We are pleased to announce that we have now acquired the domain name theartofmusic.com

The TLD .com is the primary one used throughout the world to signify a commercial enterprise and theartofmusic.com is therefore a welcome addition to the list of domains pointing to The Art of Music.

For the time being theartofmusic.com and theartofmusic.co.uk – along with other names including misspellings – will share the same web space. We plan, however, to use these names for distinctive parts of our business:

This division will help us to continue to make The Art of Music a more user-friendly site for all our customers, enabling them to find what they want easily. Of course it will be easy to move between these two from whichever site you first land on.

We hope to make these changes during the second quarter of 2008.

theartofmusic.sco ?

It has been proposed that ".sco" be the proposed generic TLD for Scotland.

We support this campaign. If it becomes a reality, we would use theartofmusic.sco to point to our music engraving and typesetting services. More details of the .sco campaign can be found on the dotSCO website (dotsco.org).

An e-petition has been submitted to the Scottish Parliament calling for them to give full support to the dotSCO campaign, just as the Welsh Assembly has done in relation to the dotCYM campaign (see dotcym.org).

(This is not a party political issue: a major factor in the success of the ".cat" campaign was that all of the political parties in Catalonia – regardless of their political beliefs – supported it. This support demonstrated to ICANN that it was not a political issue – it was a question of culture.)
