Concerts are charged separately (see individual events below).
A Child Protection Policy is in place for all events to cover all those under the age of 18 years.

Course for Clergy, Worship Leaders and Church Musicians Are you concerned that: If you have discovered a way of addressing some of these problems and would like to share it with others, then come along. This event is a ‘must’ for all Clergy, Readers, Organists, Choir Trainers and Music Leaders. You may simply want to listen and learn, or you may have something valuable to contribute. This is a vital and important part of the Church’s ministry. |

As well as being the Director of the Sam Baker School of Church Music, David Leeke is Organist and Director of Music at S. Chad’s, Shrewsbury. He is Conductor of the Shrewsbury Cantata Choir and co-director of The Redbury Singers as well as being the Co-ordinator of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) activity in the West Midlands. He is also a Senior Examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Kathryn Burningham is a teacher and Director of Chapel Music at Shrewsbury School, is Director of Music at University College, Oxford and is also Director of the Young Peoples’ Choirs at S. Chad’s, Shrewsbury. She is co-director of the Redbury Singers and is also an examiner. As an undergraduate she was Organ Scholar of Merton College, Oxford, from where she gained a double-first class degree in music.
Nigel Groome has been Organist and Director of Music at Beckenham Parish Church since 1980. He is also the RSCM Co-ordinator for the South-East, and music advisor for the Diocese of Rochester. The RSCM has recently awarded him an Associateship (ARSCM). This award is in recognition of the national importance of his work with the RSCM, the Diocese and Beckenham Parish Church.
Dr Harry Bramma was educated at Oxford where he gained degrees in music and theology. His career in church music began in 1963, when he became Assistant Organist at Worcester Cathedral and Director of Music at the Kings School, Worcester. Moving to London in 1976, he became organist of Southwark Cathedral. From 1989 – 1998 he was Director of the RSCM and was subsequently Organist of All Saints’, Margaret Street.
Fr Richard Hayes is the Resident Priest at S. Alkmund’s and has had a long ministry mainly in London. He is a native of Shropshire and ‘retirement’ has brought him back to Shrewsbury. He is Chairman of the Trustees of the SBSCM and has been hugely instrumental in the renaissance of S Alkmund’s Church.
Michael Arthur was a chorister at Chelmsford Cathedral and a Choral Exhibitioner at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge where he studied medicine. He now sings with Shrewsbury Cantata Choir and S. Chad’s Church Choir and is in increasing demand as a soloist. He is also a local GP.
Fr Philip Chester is Vicar of S. Matthews Westminster and also Area Dean of Westminster (S. Margaret). He was Curate of S. Chad’s, Shrewsbury from 1980-1985; of S Martin-in-the-Fields from 1985-1988 and was then Chaplain of King’s College London until 1995. He has, for a number of years, been a Priest Vicar of Westminster Abbey.
